A used commercial pressure washer should be tested as a working system, not judged by clean plastics or a motor that happens to start. The checks below are the minimum we want to understand before a machine is handed over.
Water and pressure side
- Inlet filter, water supply and suction condition.
- Pump oil condition and signs of water contamination.
- Stable pressure under load rather than only a brief gauge reading.
- Leaks from the pump head, seals, hose, trigger and internal pipework.
- Correct shut-off and unloader operation when the trigger closes.
Burner and fuel system
On a hot machine, we check that the fan starts, ignition is reliable and the burner runs without persistent white, blue or black smoke. Fuel filters, pipes, nozzle condition and the flame area all matter. A burner that lights once is not enough—it needs to cycle off and restart correctly.
Electrical controls
Switches, contactors, safety interlocks and warning lamps should operate consistently. Cables and plugs need checking for heat damage or poor repairs. On 110V and three-phase machines, the available site supply must also match the machine.
Accessories affect the result
A worn trigger, damaged hose or incorrect nozzle can make a sound machine perform badly. We confirm what hose, lance, trigger and nozzle are included with each unit instead of assuming old accessories are serviceable.
The final load test
The machine should run long enough to reach normal operating temperature, cycle through trigger shut-off and restart the burner. That is when intermittent leaks, unstable pressure and smoky combustion tend to show themselves.
